POP3 e-mail acceleration |
|
Existing Web e-mail acceleration has been
enhanced to accelerate POP3-based e-mail. Messages and
file attachments downloaded by POP3 e-mail applications
such as Eudora, Outlook and Outlook Express, are now
accelerated.
E-mail acceleration automatically installs and configures
when you install the Propel Accelerator Client. No user
intervention is required to receive accelerated e-mail,
which makes it very easy and fast to begin using this
enhanced feature. |

BMP and PNG acceleration |
|
Web page downloading has been enhanced to download
even faster. Propel Accelerator Client now accelerates
web pages containing PNG and BMP graphic images. |

Enhanced acceleration |
|
Propel Accelerator Client now performs faster by
default. Based on feedback received from Propel customers,
a preference of speed over image quality has been implemented.
The default Graphic and Ads acceleration level (in
the Graphics and Ads tab of Propel Accelerator Options)
is now set to Very High (previously, this default setting
was High). Close inspection of the difference in image
quality will show very slight change. Of course, you
can adjust the setting to your desired level through
the Options dialog box.

Client does not cleanly uninstall |
|
Removing Propel Accelerator left a registered DLL
file in place because the process to remove Propel
Accelerator did not properly clean up all Propel Accelerator
files. The file prpl_IePopupBlocker.dll remained, and
was not unregistered.

Menu options remain when client disabled |
|
When you disabled Propel Accelerator and then right-clicked
on a browser window that you had previously opened,
the menu options Allow pop-ups from this site and Refresh
Page with Full Quality were still present, but inoperable.
In addition, when you disabled Propel Accelerator and
then opened a new browser window and right-clicked
on it, the menu options were not there. This has been
fixed so that the menu options are still visible.

Trial access message displays during disconnect |
|
If you disconnected from the Internet while Propel
Accelerator was still running, an erroneous message
about trial access occasionally appeared. This message
no longer appears.

Directory under Program Files not removed |
|
If you removed Propel Accelerator from your system
and then installed it again, but to a different hard
drive, the directory structure created under the first
hard drive was not removed. This problem has been corrected.
